Position Purpose
This entry level position focuses on developing the necessary skills to support Clients and their Care Partners. Through hands-on experience in our adult day programs, training and education, you will develop the skills necessary to successfully support individuals who are afflicted with Alzheimer disease or related dementia (ADRD) and their Care Partners.
What we are looking for:
- Creativity in developing, implementing and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs for clients
- Reports on clients goals and progress with achieving these goals
- Engages and builds relationships with clients and Care Partners
- Assist clients with activities of daily living
- Supports the Client Service Team by assisting at different sites as needed to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all clients attending the day programs
- Collaboration on a ASP committee or working group
What we need from you:
- Degree, Diploma or certificate in Therapeutic Recreation, Activation, Social Services, Gerontology, or Personal Support Worker
- Understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
- Strong understanding of client-centered philosophy
- Competency in Google Workplace and MS Office tools
- Additional languages an asset
