Brunel–Meadowvale: One Community, Reimagined for the Future
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we are proud to share that the Brunel renovation project has been a tremendous success.
Together, donors, community organizations, and local businesses united behind this vision and helped us not only reach but also exceed our fundraising goal. This powerful show of community support made it possible to fully transform the space and create a welcoming, purpose-built environment that better supports people living with dementia.

Today, the newly renovated Brunel location proudly serves as the unified home for both the Brunel and Meadowvale Adult Day Programs, and our clients are already enjoying the revitalized space. The bright program rooms, quiet areas for rest, a secure walking path, and therapeutic gardens, along with a beautifully renovated kitchen and dining space, are enhancing daily experiences and enabling staff to deliver programs in more engaging, comfortable, and supportive ways.
This transformation means more than an updated building. It means greater capacity to meet the growing needs of our community and an improved environment where clients can feel safe, connected and inspired every day.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. This project is a powerful example of community in action, and with this support, the Alzheimer Society Peel can continue providing meaningful programs and compassionate care for years to come.

New Interactive Technology Brings Joy and Connection to Adult Day Programs
Thanks to the generous support of the Bayshore Foundation, Alzheimer Society Peel has introduced three new Obie Interactive Table Top systems across our Adult Day Programs. These interactive tables are now installed and in active use at Sam McCallion Day Centre, Evelyn’s Place Day Program, and Brunel Day Centre.
From the moment they were introduced, the Obie tables have been an incredible hit with clients and staff alike. The technology adds a new dimension to programming by offering interactive games and activities designed to encourage movement, spark engagement, and create moments of joy and connection.

The tables are already becoming a natural part of daily programming. Clients gather to play together, cheer each other on, and enjoy the shared experience these activities create.
Tiffany, Manager at Evelyn’s Place Day Program, shared the following reflection on the impact the Obie is already having:
"The Obie has been a great addition to our program. There is a wide variety of games that are fun and engaging without making our clients feel overstimulated or confused. The activities are visual, interactive, and easy to use, so clients can jump right in without much instruction. They just use their hands to play.
We have noticed that even some of our quieter clients are more engaged. The games naturally draw people in and make participation feel comfortable and low-pressure.
Since many of the games are movement-based, they encourage clients to reach, stretch, and tap, which helps keep them active. They get a little exercise in a way that feels like fun, not like a workout.
Beyond the physical benefits, the Obie has created more opportunities for connection. Clients cheer each other on, laugh together, and celebrate small successes. It’s helped reduce isolation and brought a warm, positive energy into the room.
The Obie has added more fun, connection, and meaningful engagement to our days. It allows clients to participate at their own pace and helps make each day a little brighter for everyone."
We are deeply grateful to the Bayshore Foundation for helping make this possible. Their support is enhancing the daily experience of clients across our programs and helping create more moments of joy, movement, and connection for people living with dementia.

Exciting News: ASP Achieves CARF’s Highest Level of Accreditation
We are proud to share a significant milestone for Alzheimer Society Peel.
ASP has earned our fifth Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International—the highest level possible—effective September 26, 2025, through May 31, 2028.
This accreditation recognizes excellence in our Adult Day Services: Dementia Care Specialty Program and Governance Standards.
It is a powerful affirmation of Alzheimer Society Peel’s dedication to improving the quality of life for people living with dementia and their care partners. CARF’s rigorous review confirmed a strong and consistent pattern of conformance to international standards—reflected in our services, our skilled and compassionate personnel, and our commitment to documentation and continuous improvement.
This accomplishment belongs to every ASP employee, volunteer, family, and supporter who contributes to our mission. Together, we are upholding the highest standards of care and continuing to strengthen programs close to home.
Thank you for helping us reach this achievement—and for joining us as we continue building excellence in dementia care for our community.

Brunel-Meadowvale: One Community, REIMAGINED for the future.
Since 2001, the Meadowvale Adult Day Program has provided a genuine community environment, offering meaningful activities that are tailored to our clients’ interests in a safe and welcoming setting.
But as demand for our programs grows, Meadowvale Adult Day Program has outgrown its current space.
To meet the needs of today — and tomorrow — Alzheimer Society Peel is excited to announce a major renovation project at our Brunel location. This newly expanded site will become the unified home for both our Brunel and Meadowvale Adult Day Programs, offering enhanced care, comfort, and connection under one roof.
The transformed space will feature:
- Multiple bright, inviting and purpose-built program spaces
- Quiet rooms for rest and reflection
- A secure walking path and therapeutic gardens
- A fully renovated kitchen and restorative dining room
Our goal is to welcome clients into this revitalized space by late 2025 — with minimal disruption to current Brunel clients.

IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s 2025
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Peel was re-imagined this year to include a carnival and entertainment. The reimagined walk combined the traditional elements of our charity walk with a more dynamic, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for participants of all ages. The event was hosted at Erin Mills Town Centre, providing the event and our sponsors with high visibility and foot traffic.
While maintaining the walk’s core fundraising purpose, the added post-walk engagement pieces deepen the impact by highlighting the services and stories supported by the funds raised. The addition of the carnival and entertainment provided a celebration of Hope and Progress to advance care, support and awareness for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their CarePartners.
The event raised over $100,000 and attracted more than 1,200 attendees. Thank you to our walkers, attendees, donors, sponsors, volunteers and staff who helped make this a memorable event! We could not have done it without you!

Project Lantern
Project Lantern represents a groundbreaking partnership between Alzheimer Society Peel (ASP) and Peel Regional Police, combining expertise in dementia care with law enforcement to enhance community safety. This initiative focuses on protecting individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia who may be at risk of wandering or unsafe situations, ensuring they are supported with dignity and care. Together, we are developing tailored training for officers and first responders to better recognize, communicate with, and assist individuals with dementia.
The program includes educational outreach and promoting tools like identification kits and tracking technology, empowering families and caregivers to prevent potential crises. Project Lantern showcases how partnerships between community organizations and law enforcement can address complex societal challenges through shared resources, expertise, and a unified mission. This partnership reflects our commitment to creating a community where persons living with dementia feel safe, supported, and included.
