Board Members

Lucy Rasmussen President

Lucy was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2005 and has since practised as a criminal and civil Barrister. Since 2014, she has served as an Assistant Crown Attorney in Peel and is currently the Mental Health Court Team Lead. She has also had the opportunity to work in the Houses of Parliament in the United Kingdom, for the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C., and within the White House. Additionally, she spent six months in Brussels, Belgium, researching and writing a collective complaint to the European Union concerning human trafficking. Lucy earned her Law Degree and Master’s Degree in the UK and was a guest lecturer in law at Manchester Arts and Technology College for two years. Currently, she is a member of the Human Services and Justice Coordination Committee (HSJCC) and spoke at their biennial conference in 2019. Lucy is proud to have completed two marathons and to have summited Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for various charities.

D. Campbell Fraser Vice President

Campbell is a Certified Professional Accountant who also holds certifications in Canadian Securities Trading and as a Financial Analyst. Campbell attended Queen’s University and completed his MBA at York University. Campbell has worked at several large conglomerates, primarily in the insurance sector, throughout his 28-year career, all in senior management and C-suite roles.

Gaurav Bansal Treasurer

Gaurav is a Certified Professional Accountant currently working with Ontario Health as a Manager of Funding Allocation. Previously, Gaurav worked at TAO Asset Management as a Compliance and Audit Specialist, with CIBC Mellon, with the Sensus Partnership of Chartered Accountants, and at Bennett Gold LLP. Gaurav also has extensive volunteer experience with organizations such as Second Harvest, Ascend Canada, and the Toronto South CPA Association. He has received the Outstanding Achievement Award from Second Harvest and the MVP Award from Ascend Canada. Gaurav will apply his volunteer and fund development experience to assist ASP in our endeavours and will contribute his professional expertise directly to the Audit and Investment Committee of the Board.

Katie Mills Secretary

For over 35 years, Katie has offered senior executive and financial leadership, strategic and innovative operational guidance and oversight, and corporate governance expertise to companies in Canada, the USA, and Germany. She is a seasoned CFO with broad international and domestic industry experience, including renewable energy, technology, manufacturing and distribution, financial services, and not-for-profits. Katie is an experienced CFO by training and academic background. She founded her consulting practice 14 years ago, providing fractional consulting services on a fractional basis to SMEs and mid-cap organizations needing CFO expertise, the primary purpose of helping companies to achieve the next level of sustainable growth, stable profits, and strong cash management. Katie obtained her Certified Public Accounting designation in Oregon, USA, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Math from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Joanne Robinson Director

Joanne is the Founder and President/CEO of the Pinnacle Search Group, an executive search firm based in Peel Region. Since establishing Pinnacle in 2000, it has been named Canada’s Top Growing Company, Canada’s Most Profitable Company, and Joanne herself earned the title of "Top Women Entrepreneurs." Joanne is also a partner and president of Bradham Energies, a waste-to-energy company aiming to help our environment. When the Earth wins, we all win. Joanne spends a considerable amount of time offering guest lectures on various strategic priorities for companies. Outside of work, Joanne takes great pride and passion in giving back to her community and supporting several causes across North America.

Dr. Kristina Kokorelias Director

Kristina received her Ph D. from the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Toronto, specializing in Aging. She holds a Master's and Bachelor’s in Aging and Dementia Studies. Additionally, Kristina received a College Diploma in Not-for-Profit Business Leadership and Management for her work in the field. Kristina currently works as an Associate Professor for the Social Work Department and the Faculty of Medicine at U of T, as well as an Associate Scientist at Sinai Health, as a Senior Academic Program Coordinator at UHN and as an Associate Fellow at the National Institute of Aging. Kristina has enjoyed volunteering at a great number of charities over the years, and currently with the City of Toronto in both Police Services and their Seniors Strategy.

Dr. Kartik Gupta Director

Kartik holds an Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from Western University and is completing his Doctor of Medical degree from the Schulich School at Western as well. Kartik enjoys volunteering as a mentor in a number of different ways and has also volunteered for health charities like MS and the Distress Centre of Mississauga. Kartik also started a number of organizations that work to assist students and people who want to join the healthcare field and understand what is required at different levels. The latest passion project by Kartik is his wish to understand how AI can assist healthcare, and he is working actively to understand and implement some benefits.

Jeff Killip Director

Jeff has been working in the banking field with both Real Estate and Asset Management/Evaluation for over 12 years. Jeff received his degree from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University in 2011 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Jeff has worked with a number of the “Big Banks” within Canada, and his current role is at Toronto Dominion Bank as Vice President of Origination.

Lisa Melo

Lisa held several executive and progressively senior leadership roles at RBC, including retail sales, sales leadership, sales operations, National Office, and Global HR roles.

As a thought leader in transitioning to a skills-based organization, Lisa regularly participated as an industry speaker and panellist at forums, including the World Economic Forum, contemplating and acting on the future of work.

In her role as VP Reimagine HR, Lisa provided leadership, oversight, and execution of the Reimagine HR program, which included implementing modern HR technology (Workday) and developing business and people processes.

Lisa held several global HR VP roles, including VP Human Resources, Functions; VP Human Resources Investor & Treasury Services; Head of HR RBC Insurance; and Head of HR Personal & Commercial Banking Sales, where she offered expert and strategic HR advice and counsel to senior leaders across the globe. An advocate for continuous education, Lisa earned her Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in 2001.

Dr. Olivia Boukydis

Olivia is an accomplished academic and registered social worker with over a decade of experience in social services and post-secondary education. She holds a PhD in Education and Social Justice from Lancaster University (UK), a Master’s in Social Work from the University of New England (USA), and undergraduate credentials in Family and Community Social Services from the University of Guelph and Seneca College.

Olivia currently serves as Interim Chair of the Community Social Services Program at the University of Guelph-Humber, where she demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, education, and community development. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Chrys Mendes

Chrys, MBA, PMP, is a highly experienced project and program manager with over 20 years of leadership experience in capital markets, banking, and financial services. With a proven track record managing complex regulatory, trading, and risk initiatives—including Bill C-59, IFRS 9, Basel, MIFID II, and Libor Reform.

Chrys has successfully delivered multimillion-dollar programs at leading institutions such as CIBC, TD, RBC, BMO, and Scotia. He brings deep expertise in agile and waterfall methodologies, data governance, vendor management, and risk systems.

With an MBA in Accounting and Finance, an Honours degree in Computer Science, and PMP certification, Chrys combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery to drive operational excellence and regulatory compliance across the financial sector.

Jacqueline Smeaton (Jacquie)

Jacquie is a retired science educator and department head whose career with the Peel District School Board spanned from 1989 to 2017.

Holding a Master of Science and an Honours Specialist in Chemistry, she taught at three secondary schools and led science departments at Erindale and Port Credit. Jacquie played a key role in developing Peel’s SciTech Regional Program, promoted innovative curriculum practices, and mentored colleagues through leadership and professional development.

As a dedicated contributor to school life, she sponsored student clubs, served on various committees, and supported extracurricular initiatives. Her legacy reflects excellence in teaching, curriculum innovation, and community engagement.
